Rate Hearings Update (1/4/08)

In the matter of the Rate Application of Explorer Insurance Company (for PPA) today, the parties completed the cross-examination of the CDI's witness who provided pre-filed direct testimony on the application/variance requests made by Explorer.  In the testimony provided, the CDI agreed to grant a 2644.27(3)(b) variance (the underserved communities variance).

The evidentiary record has not yet been closed.  The parties have agreed to provide rebuttal testimony by January 14, 2008 after which it will be determined by the parties on whether there will be need for cross or other actions.

In the matter of the Rate Application of Allstate Insurance Company (for homeowners), the evidentiary hearing will also commence on January 14.  While a week has been scheduled, it is contemplated that it will not take the whole week.
